I believe that each session should be a personalized experience that matches your expectations with my vision to create beautiful images to treasure. You will never feel rushed and will always have the opportunity to take an active role in the creation of your memories. My goal for your session is for you to to remember this time and the people around you for who they are at this particular moment in time.
Your special moments are best reflected when you are comfortable, relaxed and just have fun during your session. Be yourself and let your personality shine through! Let your kids be themselves. I love photos of you smiling, but I also love capturing kiddos doing what they do best 😀 Don’t stress over meltdowns, we would have plenty of time and I have plenty of patience. As a proud mom of 4, I know exactly what you are going through. I love lifestyle photography, and I always try to incorporate that into your session. Please don’t be afraid to take an active role in the creation of your memories. Throw your ideas out there!!! I love it when you do!
Please do NOT stress over what to wear! Choose something comfortable that would not restrict your poses. For example, if you want photos of you interacting with your little ones sitting down, short dresses will make photos like that more difficult.Choose something with color, or try layers and different textures. If possible, avoid wearing all solid white or black, but if this is your vision, try accessorizing with color. Trust me, color will really make your photos pop :)Think of your portraits as pieces of art! Art, that you would proudly display big in your home. Consider coordinating the colors of your outfit with colors in the rooms where you would like your portraits displayed.Multiple outfit changes are welcome, but just make sure to give me a heads up so I can plan your session and location around that.
I have always been captivated by Beautiful Light! That is why I schedule the photo sessions an hour or two before sunset, or hour or two after sunrise. I shoot outside 90% of the time, but I also have a small studio available, suitable for babies and small children. I will be happy to suggest several locations for your photo session, if you don’t have one in mind already. I do travel outside of Wichita, KS upon request for an additional ‘travel’ fee.
After the session:
I know you’ll be anxious to see your photos and I’m always excited just after a session too, so I will usually edit a few images to post shortly after your session. You’ll get a sneak peek of your photos on my Facebook page and a little later on my blog/this website. The sneak peek photos will be watermarked images so feel free to tag yourself in them on Facebook or share the blog post link with your family and friends. I ask that if you use the watermarked images anywhere online, that you don’t crop or alter them in any way and leave my watermark intact.
Within 1-2 weeks of your session, you’ll receive your disk of edited high resolution images. Please keep in mind that the time invested at the session is only a small portion of the time involved in this whole process. I spend hours editing and getting your photos just right before presenting them to you. All of the images on your disc will be fully edited: color corrected, colorful and beautiful, with all minor skin imperfections removed.
